We used Sculpey and Fimo polymer clay to make the dragon. To go right to the finished dragon, go here.
The body is not solid. We rolled up aluminum foil, shaped it, and then attached stretched-out clay.
Using a tool with a rounded edge, the eye sockets were created. Then, the whites were placed, followed by
upper lids and lower lids.
KitKat and I decided that one egg wasn't enough, so we used the tail to curl around the first...
...and then we gave her a second egg.
Wings! I'd never made a dragon or wings before, but I was happy with the result.
More shots of the wings. They are made with translucent clay, which turn more clear after baking.
See how the translucent clay changed? It gives it an antique look. Here, the Mod Podge is applied...liberally. Best glue/finish ever.
The Mod Podge hasn't quite thoroughly dried, but she looks good enough to model, now.
